The free event will feature sheering, fleece spinning, kids activities and more.

The sheep are losing their winter wool, and the public is invited to the shearing at Springton Manor Farm for an annual community tradition!

The sheep are losing their winter wool, and the public is invited to the shearing! On Saturday, May 2nd, Chester County Parks + Preservation will host its annual Sheep + Wool Day from 11a.m. to 3p.m. at Springton Manor Farm in Glenmoore.

The herd’s shearing — the highlight of Sheep + Wool Day — will be ongoing throughout the day. There will be a range of other activities, too.

Attendees can enjoy food trucks, fleece spinning and weaving demonstrations, kids’ inflatables, face painting, and wagon rides.
Penn State Extension’s 4-H clubs and the Indian Run Environmental Center will host animal education programs.
Springton Manor Farm’s Great Barn will be open, showcasing the county’s agricultural history.
The Friends of Springton Manor Farm group will be hosting kid-friendly crafts and raffle baskets.

Sheep + Wool Day will be held even in light rain. Except for service animals, pets are not permitted for the safety of the livestock.

Event Parking

Parking will be available at Springton Manor Elementary School, 400 Fairview Road, Glenmoore. Free buses from the school will be provided. Limited parking, including handicap and vendor parking, will be available at the farm. The event and parking are free.
