Love is in the air at Wayne’s A Taste of Britain, the very first on the burbs ladies-who-tea dining scene for many years. This Valentine’s they are brewing up something very special. Celebrate your loved ones at their carefully and cozily curated Valentine’s Tea weekend filled with warmth, sweetness, and English charm. It’s so ace.

Love is, literally, in full bloom at Life’s Patina Mercantile & Cafe in the heart of Chester County–a gift shop offering curated home decor, with a carefully-curated rustic farmhouse aesthetic, and a fully operating cafe led by Chef Colin & Pastry Chef Morgan. The building is the historic Jenny Lind House which was once part of a Revolutionary War campsite.

Thanks to owner and design visionary Meg Veno, their Valentine’s vignettes are artfully stocked with velvet ribbon, pink + red china and glassware, mercury glass garlands, celebratory paper goods, tea towels and all the little details in between to help you celebrate, gift and host all heart month long. Veno enthused on socials “Stop by to shop and join us in celebrating love, creativity and the joy of making ordinary days feel a little more magical!”

In addition, Life’s Patina welcomes back Chadds Ford floral farmer and florist @lindseys_garden just in time to provide dreamy flowers for Valentine’s Day! Lindsey is offering beautifully curated arrangements in a specialty vase or a deluxe bouquet. Both options will feature a variety of garden roses and other accompanying blooms in a blush color palette, at two different price points. The Village Teahouse, located in Northern Montgomery County (Upper Gwynedd Township), is a grand Victorian home over 120 years old that has been converted into a tea-inspired gift shop and cafe. They have people travel as far as Connecticut and Virginia for the unique experience they provide. Their menu showcases salads, scones, classic tea sandwiches and desserts.

This Valentine’s weekend they are putting a Revolutionary twist on the traditional Valentine’s Tea Party by inviting Founding Father and special guest Ben Franklin on Sunday, February 15th. America 250 anyone? The teahouse will host a Benjamin Franklin historical interpreter for a presentation followed by a short Q&A. They will serve their Katherine’s Tea Meal. There are multiple seatings for this event so please call for times and availability. In addition, The Village Teahouse will be offering Valentine’s Week menu specials from Thursday, February 12th through Saturday, February 14th.

Benjamin Franklin was not only a renowned scientist, diplomat, and polymath, but the most revered of the Founding Fathers. He is the only individual to sign all four foundational documents of the United States of America.

And, if you love events that embrace historical figures, pop culture and American history, stay tuned on their Facebook page. Last year they did a Downton Abbey themed tea and every spring they host a commemorative Titanic luncheon. Guests come dressed to compete in a Victorian costume contest and an 8-course meal of authentic RMS Titanic recipes is served. More info here on their event page.

Love is brewing at Mimi’s Tea Cottage, a traditional English tea room in the heart of downtown West Chester. On Valentine’s Weekend, Mimi’s is offering a special menu for both Saturday, February 14th and Sunday, February 15th with one choice of tea-$49.99 for adults (4 courses) and $29.99 for children (3 courses). Matines Cafe, which has two locations around the Main Line including a Wayne enclave that opened in November 2024, is a sophisticated, French-style bistro offering authentic cuisine and an elevated, European atmosphere.
