Have a holly jolly Christmas
It’s the best time of the year
I don’t know if there’ll be snow
But have a cup of cheer…

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! And if you live in Wayne or near our hometown, then you are counting down the days for the highly anticipated three-day weekend celebration known as Christmas in Wayne.
Christmas in Wayne kicks off Friday evening, December 5th with over 4,000 Main Liners lining the streets of North Wayne Avenue. New this year is an ice skating rink on Friday night–yup! According to the event website they are calling it “Wayne Winter Ice Rink.” We are so pumped!
Wayne has a really special place in our heart over here at AroundMainLine.com as it’s our hometown and where we launched AML (AroundMainLine) in 2008. Head on out for the fun—we hope to see you there.
Christmas in Wayne Highlights
Friday, December 5th 5:30pm-8:00pm
Friday night is hands down the biggest, boldest of the three days and never disappoints—rain, shine, snow or bitter cold. Downtown Wayne transforms into a winter wonderland during this kickoff evening and biggest draw–the heart of Wayne will be bustling with festive activities for the whole family. New this year and the talk of the town is the ice skating rink–it is Friday night only! Lace up your skates on the artificial ice (temporary downtown for this evening only) rink and let it go as you twirl around and soak in the holiday spirit.
In addition, there will be firepits, trolley rides, carnival games, crafts and activities for the kids, a tree lighting with Ducis Rodgers of 6abc, caroling and special roaming guests—including The Grinch.
Saturday, December 6th 8am-3pm
Deemed by the Wayne Business Association (the event organizers) as a “Saturday with Santa in Wayne,” the day kicks off with the annual Radnor Memorial Library’s “Elves for the Shelves” 5k & Fun Walk at 8am.
The Santa parade down Lancaster Avenue with the Radnor High School Marching Band is at 10am followed by free photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, cookies, and yummy hot chocolate outside on the lawn at Wayne Presbyterian Church.
From 10am to 3pm The Willows Park and Preserve hosts their annual Holiday Open House (with free admission) with Christmas vendors, holiday music and snacks, a poinsettia sale, craft tables for kids and more.
Sunday, December 7th
The final day of a Christmas in Wayne features two key events: a curated art show at the Wayne Art Center CRAFT FORMS from 1pm to 4pm. The 30th annual juried exhibition of contemporary fine art runs through January 24th, 2026. In addition, there will be a free concert at Wayne Presbyterian Church at 7:30pm with the Wayne Oratorio Society. It is being held Saturday night, December 6th as well. More information here.
