The work of the Willistown Conservation Trust is concentrated on 28,000 acres of Willistown Township and the surrounding area encompassing the Crum, Ridley, and Darby Creek watersheds here in Southeastern Pennsylvania.

Willistown Conservation Trust invites you to bucolic Rushton Farm to celebrate the bounty of the tomato season with friends, family, and fellow lovers of open space and preservation.

Rushton Farm, the community farm program of Willistown Conservation Trust and part of that immense acreage, sustainably grows food on protected land while connecting the community to local agriculture and conservation. This summer they cordially invite the community back to the farm for a memorable summer evening filled with fresh tomatoes, great company, and farm-to-table flavors. It is their 19th annual Summer Tomato Tasting.

Celebrate the peak of summer with an evening of fresh flavors, local beverages, live music, and community at Rushton Farm! Their annual Tomato Tasting is a delicious celebration of the farm’s abundant tomato harvest–and one of the area’s most highly anticipated social gatherings.

Stroll through the beautiful setting of Rushton Farm at Rushton Woods Preserve and sample a stunning variety of plump, juicy, and flavorful tomatoes harvested right from their fields. Enjoy tomatoes prepared in multiple ways– from simple slices that showcase each variety’s unique flavor to tasty seasonal creations such as tomato, mozzarella, basil skewers, roasted tomato focaccia, tomato watermelon salad and more!

About Rushton Farms

Rushton Farm at Rushton Woods Preserve uniquely uses protected land for a purpose beyond its recreational value and benefit to wildlife. Implementing the concept of agroecology (farming with nature in mind) and using organic and regenerative farming practices, they put the land to work at Rushton Farm to feed people and further enhance the surrounding ecosystems.

The result? A productive farm that yields 30,000 pounds of fresh, healthy food each year and grows 140 varieties of fruits and vegetables for a 110-family Community Supported Agriculture program. Each year Ruston Farm donates 15% of their agricultural yield to the Chester County Food Bank and West Chester Food Cupboard.

Because of its unique approach to agriculture, Rushton Farm has become a beloved community resource and a powerful education and outreach vehicle, attracting volunteers, students, researchers and aspiring farmers to participate throughout the seasons.

Rushton Farm is uniquely situated within the 86-acre Rushton Woods Preserve at 911 Delchester Road in Newtown Square, and is open to the public 365 days per year.
