Well, Chester County theatre lovers do not have to wait any further! Opening this weekend, The SpongeBob Musical is the first production in SALT Performing Art’s upgraded theatre in Chester Springs. SALT is debuting its new high-def video wall as they produce their first play in the upgraded theatre in Chester Springs. It is “SALT 2.0.”

SpongeBob is based on the beloved animated series and won 12 Tony Awards including BEST MUSICAL! Featuring irresistible characters and magical music, this deep-sea pearl of a show makes a splash with audiences young and old. When the citizens of Bikini Bottom discover that a volcano will soon erupt and destroy their humble home, SpongeBob and his friends must come together to save the fate of their undersea world. With lives hanging in the balance and all hope lost, a most unexpected hero rises up.

“We can not wait to plunge into this stunning all-star, all-singing, all-dancing, dynamic stage show with our new HIGH-DEF VIDEO WALL,” comments Lauren McComas, President and Artistic Director of SALT Performing Arts. “Much like the themes of SpongeBob – optimism, facing adversity, cooperation, and community – we thank our greater community for their ongoing support and generosity for making SALT 2.0 a reality. Private donations, fundraisers, and a lot of community spirit made our dreams come true, and we are very grateful. We cannot wait for our audiences to experience all of our magical upgrades!”
As part of a 10 year partnership with Chester County Food Bank, SALT will be collecting canned pineapple for the Chester County Food Bank at every performance. No glass containers please. In addition, $1.00 from every ticket sale is directly donated to the Chester County Food Bank.

This production takes place at SALT’s Chester Springs location: 1645 Art School Road, Chester Springs.
