Meet Stacey

We flipped the “interview” switch and went one-on-one with owner and Main Line Studios’ Stacey Grant to learn all about this interesting, ever-evolving and dynamic world of podcasting.

Business Background: After working in fortune 500 companies in Sales and Marketing I co-founded Koi-Fly Creative (a full service production company – working with large and small brands) in 2016, grew it for 7 years before selling in 2022. Kept the studio space to launch Main Line Studios and The Podcast Factory.
Currently Resides: Chester Springs, PA
Pets: Three cats – Gray, Pearl, Moo and one Pug – Cody

The Business

What is “Main Line Studios?” We’re the non-studio-ish studio where cutting-edge tech meets your coolest friend’s living room. Professional equipment and expertise, but warm and welcoming. We handle the tech so you focus on creating.

How did the studio come about? Started as our production company studio for Koi-Fly Creative (founded 2016, sold 2022). Officially launched Main Line Studios in 2021, added The Podcast Factory in 2022.

Who else is involved? My husband Eric (Our ‘Way Over-Qualified’ Studio Technician/Camera Operator/Editor). He spent 22 years at QVC, from Camera Operator to Senior Technical Director. A master of steadicam, jib operation, editing, color correction who brings nearly 3 decades of live TV and production experience.

What’s a podcast? Digital content for creators with both audio and video components that audiences can consume whenever they want, on any topic. More intimate and specific than traditional media. We focus heavily on video podcasts in our studio – accessible to create but technical considerations matter for quality. Just come in and sit down to podcast – we do the rest!

Who should podcast? Natural connectors, subject matter experts, business builders, community creators, storytellers. Not for: people seeking quick money or uncomfortable with consistent content creation.

The Studio

Main Line Studios offers professional options for creators, marketers and podcasters, including:

Tours: Yes! Free 30-minute tours are always available. It is much easier to envision your project when you see our unique space and vignettes.

Studio equipment: State-of-the-art audio, video, lighting, multi-camera setups. Key difference: tech wizards included with every rental. You create, we handle all the buttons.

Studio vignettes: Multiple looks in one location – exposed brick industrial vibes, cozy couch settings with table lamps. Turn the camera 90 degrees and get completely different aesthetics. Perfect for podcasts, photography, and video. Natural light or you can black out the space and control your own lighting.

Studio services: Hourly rentals, podcast production, photography lifestyle or seamless background shoots, video production, live streaming. You can walk out with finished content ready to post.

Current projects: Launching podcast membership in September, new pricing for photographers, hosting Philly podcast meetup every other month. Always evolving based on what creators actually need.

Business partners: Local photographers, podcast professionals, Wayne-area businesses (or businesses all over the world), content creators. Collaborative approach – we’re stronger together. Fully customizable sets – we want your podcast and content to look uniquely yours.

Podcasting

Types of podcasts offered: Business and professional content, community focus, creative and lifestyle, educational series, interview shows. Our own in-house podcast, “Gurus and Game Changers” is a great example.

Great podcast elements: Clear audio (non-negotiable), great production quality, consistent value, authentic voice, strong format, preparation, thoughtful editing, regular schedule, audience focus.

Benefits of podcasting: Relationship building at scale, content multiplication, deeper conversations, easier than writing for many, quality over quantity, professional networking opportunities.

Does everyone need to monetize in the podcast world? Absolutely not! Many use podcasts for business development, community building, or passion projects. Success isn’t always about money – it’s about achieving your goals.

Production tips: Start before you’re ready, batch record, invest in audio quality, prepare but stay flexible, edit ruthlessly, build relationships not just content, be consistent, ask for help.

Misconceptions to dispel: You don’t need massive downloads to succeed, it’s not easy money, you don’t need expensive equipment, there’s room for quality content, it’s more than talking into a mic.

Wayne Community

Our building: Historic Suburban Newspaper building, founded circa 1905. Over a century of storytelling history – perfect for our podcasting mission. Lots of creative energy (and maybe some friendly ghosts!).

One Year Anniversary plans: Still cooking something up for September! We want to celebrate our milestone and the creative community that’s supported us.

Favorite Wayne spots: Paola’s provides pizzas for our podcast meetups – authentic Italian from a native of Italy. Elegance Café makes incredible quiche – 40+ years serving the Main Line with French pastries. There are too many great restaurants to name!

Personal Stuff

Days off: Spending time with my husband Eric LaCasse (who is also my business partner at Main Line Studios and The Podcast Factory) and my adult kids, Sammie (24) and Zach (26) who both live and work in the area. Sammie works at Free People Movement down the street from us at Main Line Studios and Zach works at Amgen. Also I love exploring Main Line events and discovering new spots around Chester Springs and Wayne and even Philadelphia – ok I love traveling EVERYWHERE. Not enough time to explore the world – but when I retire watch out world!

Favorite way to unplug: Bikram style hot yoga at Orange Lotus in Exton – it forces you to be completely present. Weighted vest walks through beautiful Chester County. Time with Eric and the kids, plus our four pets pulls me away from screens. Good conversations over coffee with real people in real spaces. And I love a really great book! That reminds me…Main Point Books is a local woman owned bookstore down the street from us here in Wayne that I absolutely love, too.
