Varner’s Farms in Collegeville has a beautiful selection of Fraser Fir, Douglas Fir, and White Pine this season. On Mondays thru Saturdays, along with tractor wagons, visitors can enjoy teams of Belgian Draft horses to take them to cut their own Christmas tree-weather permitting. Varner’s also has fresh cut trees available everyday. The fresh cut trees are harvested once a week throughout the season.

Varner’s country-chic Wreath Shoppe is filled with hundreds of adorable ornaments, wreathes, roping, holly, greens, swags and mistletoe. Don’t forget to see the new look in the train shoppe. Families and visitors can warm up and enjoy a complimentary cup of hot chocolate or hot cider, as they listen to Christmas Carols and choose the perfect tree.

Varner’s will have a Live Nativity this Saturday, December 18th at 6:00pm and 7:00pm. Refreshments will be served and they will offer a special time of fellowship afterwards. Read the full story

Local celiacs and vegans now have the first Philadelphia-area bakery to call their own with Lansdale’s Virago Baking Company.

Walk into Lansdale’s quaint corner Virago Baking Company and the cases are packed with one delicious treat after another: dozens of mouth-watering, generously iced cupcakes, hearty pies, breakfast breads, birthday cakes and more. Seems like any other small town bustling bakery business until you take a close look at the menu. A bakery for the Philadelphia region that prides itself in offering the same items but made for those dietary restrictions in mind are what we pride ourselves on-and, what can I say, it is working,” explained Mason.
