Ralph’s is the best!! The KofP location offers so much, great happy hours, a convenient place to meet friends, and brings a little bit of South Philly to our neck of the woods!!! Love it!!

Ralph’s was always my favorite South Philly spots. It’s the go-to place I take out-of-town visitors. Haven’t tried the Valley Forge location yet and I only live 5 minutes away! I’m hoping it will be just like being in S. Philly!

Went to the Original Ralph’s in South Philly in 1960 for the very first time….My father ordered Calamari for an appetizer, and at the ripe old, age of 8, grossed-me-out plenty! Specially the tentacles…!?!?!?! So, in walks this HUGE black man with two very pretty, white ladies, a blonde and a brunette…As soon as they were seated, my father asked him for his autograph, and he signed the paper place mat, Mohammed Ali…!?!
He, Ali, saw that I was freaked out by the squid, whereupon, he leaned over to me and told me, “Son, you should listen to your father! Not only do they taste great, but they’re the best in the city!” Of course, then, I tried them {mostly out of fear!?!}, and I LOVED them! I finished my father’s and ordered another for my entree!
Later, when I finished my first Coke, I was very pleased to find a ‘penny’ on the bottom of my glass! A penny was worth like a buck then! Oh, BOY! But, my mom, was not happy about the sanitary issue, and wanted to complain to the waiter whose only knowledge of English was “No” and “Yea”…?!? So, when Ali saw the problem, he spoke in beautiful Italian to the waiter, asking for another soda for me and even picked up our entire bill for our dinner!?!
RALPHS is a restaurant that’s a true Philadelphia tradition and has Classic food and wine to prove it!
I would SO love to try the NEW location someday in my lifetime…Who knows who I’ll meet….?!?
