Fighting the winter blues or a serious case of cabin fever in February? Media’s three biggest bars have joined together to deliver the perfect remedy as they launch the inaugural ‘Beads N Bliss’ bar crawl, Fat Tuesday February 24th. Dan Brodeur of Brodeur’s on State, in conjunction with Stephen Scutti with Stephen’s on State and Sligo bartender Jessica Brown, organized the event as a way to ignite some new nightlife into a business district known for its spring and summer outings. “We just thought this was a good time of year to put something together and bring a bunch of our customers back into town. With this economy, we want to work together to create a new level of excitement with an innovative idea to benefit all of us and that is where Beads N Bliss derived from,” said Dan Brodeur.

The Fat Tuesday bar crawl begins at four o’clock and lasts through the night. Cover in the form of a ‘Mardi Gras passport’ is only $10 which gives partygoers admission at each restaurant—all offering free buffets, live DJs, festive specialty drinks, shirts, Mardi Gras buttons, beads and more. By getting your passport stamped at each restaurant (with a minimum of one alcoholic beverage purchase), attendees will be eligible for a complimentary gift card at one of the three Fat Tuesday businesses. In addition, commemorative t-shirts will be given to the first 100 partygoers.

“I’m really excited that we are doing a winter event. It is, of course, kind of slow this time of year for the restaurant industry and this is a way to ignite a little life and a lot of fun with a creative idea,” said Stephen Scutti, owner of Stephen’s on State.

Beads N Bliss, Media’s inaugural Mardi Gras celebration, is Fat Tuesday February 24th, 2009 and starts at 4pm. For more information, visit: www.brodeursonstatestreet.com
