Lights, camera, action! That was the exciting atmosphere yesterday morning as AroundMainLine.com had its first coordinating television segment with the fine folks at NBC10. AML has been working hand-in-hand with dynamo 10! Show executive producer Mina Sabet on creative ideas to translate AML’s articles and events into compelling, live segments for the lifestyle and entertainment show.

Our first coordinating spot introduces Monica Walker Miraglilo’s sophisticated Main Line boutique Fill-a-Pillow (www.fillapillow.com), which also happens to be the location for our upcoming ladies’ party this Thursday, July 9th.

Miraglio spoke with 10! Show host, Lori Wilson, for this four minute segment—discussing how Fill-a-Pillow was started, the great events the boutique offers for children and adults alike, and showcasing a wonderful selection of their custom pillows. Want to watch the segment? Click below.

…what a wonderful introduction of Fill-a-Pillow and AroundMainLine.com to viewers across the Delaware Valley. Mina and I met after the show to brainstorm on our next, innovative segment for August. Thank you NBC10! And, ladies across the region, I hope to meet you Thursday night at Fill-a-Pillow.

AroundMainLine.com’s inaugural Girls’ Night Out Event entitled ‘Pillow Talk!’ is Thursday, July 9th from 6-9p.m. at Walker’s Haverford Station Boutique, Fill-a-Pillow. For full party details, check out our preview article on AML.

It’s time for a pillow party! AroundMainLine.com is hosting its first Girls’ Night Out event on Thursday, July 9th from 6 to 9 p.m. in Haverford Station. And, it promises to be a pillow party unlike any other. AML and Haverford pillow boutique Fill-a-Pillow, owned and operated by QVC model Monica Walker Miraglilo, have partnered together for a fun, ladies event for the Main Line called, appropriately enough, Pillow Talk! “I absolutely adore Monica’s creative boutique Fill-a-Pillow! And when I was shopping around for an event venue, it seemed like a no-brainer. It is the most welcoming, lush retail space. We’ve had so many requests through our last nine months for this type of ladies’ cocktail party-so it is due time for a unique girls’ night. In addition, since we have partnered with NBC10, Pillow Talk! will be part of the 10! Show this week. Monica will bring all her creative designs on set (on Tuesday, July 7th) to chat up Pillow Talk! and inform the entire Delaware Valley about our cool, summer cocktail party. We are honored to be working with Channel 10 and feel this will be key to spreading the word about our fun AML event,” said Sarah Lockard, AroundMainLine.com ePublisher.

AroundMainLine.com takes you for an exclusive online tour of the 2008 PSPCA designer show house.

Dear AML Readers:

The Pennsylvania SPCA (PSPCA) is hosting its third annual DogHaus, a highly anticipated designer show house organized every other fall that brings together some of the Main Line and Philadelphia’s most innovative designer minds. All proceeds for the event support the PSPCA’s efforts to help abused and neglected animals throughout the state. Starting October 11th, the PSPCA will welcome thousands of visitors to the Edgcumbe House in Chestnut Hill. The estate is an impressive 10,000 square foot stone mansion built in 1861 that dominates a spacious private property on exclusive Norwood Avenue. The Chestnut Hill Historical Society prevented this architectural masterpiece (which was then owned by Chestnut Hill Hospital) from demolition in 1980. The house is now in private ownership.

I am flying down Route 30 in Bryn Mawr at 6pm on a Friday evening in mid-September, hastily buckling my seatbelt in the passenger seat of Monica Miraglilo’s sleek SUV. It’s a great night, about 70 degrees, sunny with the perfect hint of fall in the air and every Mercedes, Lexus and BMW on Lancaster Avenue has somewhere fabulous to be. So we are weaving and moving and Monica is being Monica as I will soon learn: the multitasking machine is shifting into high gear as Miraglilo answers text messages and makes phone calls simultaneously. I’m trying to figure out when exactly in my sudden adventure we will find a good time to talk.

The acclaimed author speaks how his love of his childhood has brought him to the heart of the Main Line.

Last Halloween I was proudly handing out large Hershey chocolate bars to the sea of trick-or-treaters at my parents’ house, a strategically positioned Main Line Tudor that, without fail, draws a flood every October 31st – pirates, magicians, Hannah Montanas, Cinderellas and an occasional tin man. In the midst of what seemed like a successful night of content candy grabbers, a group of boisterous middle school boys clamored up the steps dragging their stuffed pillow cases. Wondering what kind of candy they could have collected in such a short amount of time, I had to ask. “What do you guys have in there? It’s only 7:30!” “Books, we have books!” the kid with the Brian Dawkins jersey cheered. “Yeah, the guy across the street is awesome, he set up his living room and is handing out tons of free books to everyone, isn’t that cool?”
